State Department for Lands Lauded for Reforms, Zero Stalled Projects

The State Department for Lands and Physical Planning has been commended by the National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Lands for its impressive performance in implementing key reforms, with lawmakers noting the remarkable achievement of having no stalled projects.
Lands Principal Secretary Hon. Generali Nixon Korir Presented the Financial Year 2025/2026 supplementary estimates at Bunge Towers, where the department received accolades for the good progress in land administration matters and the fact that there were no stalled projects.

The committee, chaired by Mugirango North MP Hon. Joash Nyamoko, noted that the supplementary allocations would strengthen ongoing projects, particularly those aimed at resolving historical land injustices and improving service delivery to citizens.
Hon. Nyamoko emphasized that the commendation reflected tangible progress. “The department has demonstrated efficiency and accountability, and we expect this momentum to continue,” he remarked.

Members further urged the State Department to maintain transparency in resource allocation and ensure equitable distribution of funds across regions. They highlighted the importance of prioritizing communities affected by displacement and land disputes, noting that the supplementary budget provides an opportunity to address long-standing challenges.
