President Ruto Issues 2,752 Title Deeds to Kiptangwanyi Residents After 50 Years of Waiting

After five decades of waiting, residents of Kiambogo Block 4 (Mutukanio Kiptangwanyi) in Gilgil, Nakuru County can now celebrate secure land ownership following the issuance of 2,752 title deeds by H.E. President William Samoei Ruto.
Speaking in Kiptangwanyi, President Ruto who was accompanied by Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki said the Government had fully facilitated the processing and issuance of the title deeds, underscoring his administration’s commitment to ending long-standing land disputes and promoting economic empowerment.

“We have paid for the title deeds because we want to give our people dignity, security, and opportunity. Use these titles wisely to improve your lives and develop your communities,” said President Ruto.
Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Alice Wahome, who was accompanied by Lands PS Generali Nixon Korir, noted that the Ministry is committed to ensuring that every Kenyan enjoys the security that comes with land ownership.
“Today marks a victory for the people of Kiambogo. We will continue addressing historical land injustices and deal firmly with land grabbers to protect genuine landowners,” said CS Wahome.

Lands PS Nixon Korir, announced that residents will now access land services at the newly established Gilgil Land Registry, which is fully operational. He noted that they will no longer need to travel to Naivasha to seek these services, thanking the Gilgil MP for her dedicated efforts in making the registry a reality.
Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika commended the National Government for resolving long-standing land issues that have affected residents for generations.
“Despite the many historical injustices, today we celebrate progress after waiting for over 50 years. The people of Nakuru have waited long enough, and I thank the government for finally fulfilling this long-standing promise,” she said.

Also present during the event were Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry Hon. Lee Kinyanjui, Gilgil MP Hon. Martha Wangari, and Kiptangwanyi MCA George Nene, among other leaders and Government officials.
The issuance of title deeds in Kiambogo is part of the Government’s broader agenda to ensure equitable land ownership and promote economic transformation through secure land tenure across the country.
