National Stamp Duty Module Training underway in Eldoret

The State Department for Lands and Physical Planning is conducting the National Stamp Duty Module (NSDM) Training in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, targeting officers and stakeholders from seven counties; Uasin Gishu, Nandi, West Pokot, Turkana, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Trans Nzoia.
The workshop, led by Director, National Land Information Management System (NLIMS), Ms. Monica Obongo, seeks to sensitize both internal and external users on the Ardhisasa platform and the Stamp Duty Module.

Speaking during the training, Ms. Obongo appreciated the commitment of the participants, noting that the module is a critical milestone in streamlining land administration.
“The Stamp Duty Module enhances transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the assessment and collection of stamp duty, while also safeguarding government revenue and improving service delivery to citizens,” she said.
The training was officially opened by Director of Valuation, Mr. Herbert Were, and also attended by the West Pokot County Commissioner, Abdullahi Khalif, Director ICT, Mr. Leonard Maritim, FAO Project Assistant, Ms. Nancy Cheruiyot, among other senior officials.

The initiative is supported under the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) – European Union (EU) Digital Land Governance Programme, which has been instrumental in strengthening digitization efforts across the country.
