Lands PS issues title deeds in Tinderet, Nandi County
Kapsabet, August 17, 2026
Lands Principal Secretary Generali Nixon Korir today presided over the issuance of Title Deeds to the residents of Kapchure Settlement Scheme in Tinderet Constituency, Nandi County.
The event held at Tambul Primary School brings an end to the long wait by locals to have titles for their own land.
Nandi County is one of the regions in Kenya where residents were displaced by the colonial administration and their land given to white settlers. In previous years, insufficient attention was given to addressing the issue of the many Kenyans who live as squatters in their own land because of the lack of official ownership documents.

PS Korir issued 477 titles to the residents of the scheme and promised to continue resolving historical problems related to land ownership in the country.
"I have been sent here by His Excellency the President to bring an end to your long wait. We are undertaking efforts in all parts of the country and bring services closer to the people," said the PS.
Leaders who joined the PS at the event included area MP Julius Melly, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, Kuria West MP Mathias Robi who was representing the Chairman and of the National Assembly Parliamentary Committee for Lands Hon Joash Nyamoko and Emgwen MP Josses Lelmengit.

Hon Melly noted that, a small fraction of the population of Tinderet Constituency have titles for their land effectively rendering them squatters on their own land.
He thanked the PS for prioritising Tinderet.
MP Robi said the Government is delivering on the promises made by President William Ruto when he campaigned for elections.
"Everywhere you go, even in Kuria, there is evidence for everyone to see that President Ruto is busy working for Kenyans. You can see the roads, the markets, the houses and all the activities being done by the Government," said Hon Robi.
